Compton’s Faversham

Bespoke Kitchens and Furniture, Handmade in Kent

Hand Made

Each product you see in our store has been hand curated, crafted, or up cycled to ensure the highest possible quality. Traditional methods are used in our Faversham-based workshop throughout our production process, which ensures every Kitchen and piece of Furniture is unique. This is how we match our products to your décor perfectly, and something we pride ourselves on.

Being hand crafted, every single piece of Furniture and Kitchen you see in our store and online can be customised exactly to your liking. Don’t like those specific handles, or would prefer the exact shade of grey you dreamed of? Not a problem! We’re well equipped with the skills and know-how to customise your product exactly how you envisioned it, to match your décor perfectly.

We use locally, responsibly sourced materials where possible when hand-producing the products you see in our store. We pay fair prices for quality materials with unique stories. This not only acts as an incentive to local people to think about bringing materials to us to be up cycled to help the environment , but helps reduce the strain on council and waste-management resources.

  • "Thank you for everything you've done. Kitchen is beautiful and ill definitely be recommending you to others. Hopefully I'll see you again at some point as your shop is my favourite in Faversham."

  • "We have a shaker style kitchen, and needed additional storage, and knew it would not be easy to match what we already had. So we asked Lisa to come round to measure up, and discuss what options would work in the space available, and she had so many great ideas. Just so many lovely things in their shop, would love to have more!"

  • "We’d been looking for a coat stand for ages and a friend recommended that we look in Compton’s in Faversham. I drew and emailed Lisa a sketch of what we’d ideally like it to look like and with the exact measurements for the space.  It only took a couple of weeks to make and, when it arrived, we were so pleased.  They even took the trouble to ensure the hooks were a perfect match and came back to make finishing changes.  We couldn’t have been more pleased."

  • "I am delighted with my custom made dining table. The craftsmanship is amazing. The beautiful expanse of wood along with natures defects makes it totally unique. It's impossible to look at it without wanting to touch it. The pedestal base makes it perfect for seating extra  people with no legs getting in the way, making it a really comfortable experience. I chose Oxford Stone as the colour for my base. I changed my mind a few times and this wasn't a problem as Lisa was so helpful and accommodating."

  • "The amount of effort and detail that goes into the design is amazing. When they say hand-made they really mean it and it shows through in the final products. I'm super pleased with my new kitchen suite - oak topped work surfaces and the most amazing handles. The best bit? It's all sourced locally!!!!"

  • "I ordered a Kitchen Island from Comptons Furniture around six weeks ago. Sturdy, rigid and made of beautifully reclaimed wood - it's just the centre piece I needed to finish off the interior of my new Kitchen/Diner! The kids like it so much they're using it more than the table for meals."

  • "I am in love with my new kitchen! Not only did Lisa listen to everything I wanted, but the boys in the workshop made it a reality! Fitting was a breeze too. I couldn't have asked for a better service! Would highly recommend!!"
    Charlotte Denton
  • "From the moment the table was delivered we’ve been delighted. Its ruggedness and solidity are reassuring, a relief from flimsy kitchen tables that either flex or squeak. Its manufacture and design are exactly what we were looking for…  It’s the ultimate kitchen table really: sturdy, large enough to accommodate a dinner party, practical and most important: handsome. What serendipity to have found your shop."
